Alice J. Hauske
August 21, 2017
TRAVERSE CITY – Alice June Hauske, 84, of Traverse City,
passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at Munson Medical Center.
Alice was born June 10, 1933 in Durand, MI, the daughter of
Louis N. Roussin and Hazel Joyce King.
On July 15th, 1995 in Northport, she married Robert Casimer Hauske who
survives.
After high school, Alice studied nursing at the Sparrow
Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating, she married Keith Brown. They
raised their six children in Omena, while running the Harbor Bar. Alice then
moved to Northport, and worked as a full time nurse for many years at the
Leelanau Memorial Hospital. She then moved to Sarasota, Florida, where she
would continue her nursing career for the next 20 years. Alice then returned to
Michigan to be near family and grandchildren. She returned to LMH to continue
her love for nursing. She married Bob in 1995. After Alice retired from LMH,
she gave her time to caring for the elderly in the community through foot care
clinics, which she would continue to do for the rest of her days. Alice enjoyed
going to garage sales, cooking, baking, and swimming. Her greatest joys in life
were serving and worshipping Jesus, being with her children, grandchildren,
great grandchildren, and all people. She loved any chance she had to meet new
people and always knew how to connect a new person to someone that was already
a part of her life. Alice understood the importance of family and heritage and
has passed that on to those she knew and loved so dearly.
Alice is survived by her husband Robert; her children, Bradley
K. Brown, Douglas A. Brown (Cathy), Korinne M. Wheeler (Robert), Camille K.
Gable (Tod), Joshua N. Brown, and Naomi C. Williams (Doug); her step-children,
