TRAVERSE CITY – Lucille DeYoung, 94, of Traverse
City, passed away, Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in Traverse City where she had
lived with her husband since 1961.
Lucille was born in Bolsward, Netherlands to
Hendrick and Afke (Alice) Pomper. She
was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Marvin H. DeYoung, who passed
away in 1974. Also deceased are her
siblings, Oene Pomper, Henry Pomper Jr., Sue (Pomper) Klok, and Greta Janet
(Pomper) Breukink. She is survived by many
nieces and nephews.
A sincere thank you to the wonderful staff of
Culver Meadows for the compassionate care given to Lucille over the past six years
and to the Hospice caregivers during her final days. Also a special note of thanks to the Grassa sisters
for their kindness, help, understanding and support throughout this long journey.
Per her wishes, there will not be a funeral service. Internment was held in Ogdensburg Cemetery of
Traverse City.
