Diane DeHuff
1929 ~ 2020
Diane Palmer DeHuff, age 90, passed away peacefully at home in Naples, Florida, on June 26, 2020. She was born September 8, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey, to Karl and Evelyn Pacanovsky. Diane was married to George B. DeHuff Jr. for over 40 years who preceded her in death in 1993.
Diane was raised on the east coast where she went to nursing
school and received her certification at Jefferson Hospital in
Philadelphia. She was very passionate
about her nursing even after marriage and moving to the Midwest.
Diane loved Northern Michigan where she spent over 50 summers
on Lake Michigan. She also had a special
place in her heart for the Leelanau Conservancy. For many years she loved and was very
dedicated to her volunteer work in the small town of Northport. Her time in Florida was also special from her
walks with friends on Marco Island, to spending time at dinner with friends at
Moorings Park in Naples.
Diane is survived by her two sons and their wives, George and
Karen and Douglas and Nancy. Grandchildren,
Jacqueline, George (Bo), Robert, Kevin, Blake, Kori, and Dylan along with six
great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces, all of whom will miss her
dearly.
The family will hold a private service at a later date in
memory of Diane. Donations may be directed to the Leelanau
Conservancy, PO Box 1007, Leland, MI 49654.
