LAKE LEELANAU – Marilyn Louise Stallman, 83, of Lake Leelanau passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family.
  Marilyn was born Sep. 24, 1929 in Leland the daughter of Henry John Steffens and Amelia Edith (Nelson) Steffens. 
  Marilyn graduated from Leland High School and was very active in her community.  She worked at the Depot Restaurant, Falling Waters Lodge, Fountain Point and Fischer’s Happy Hour.
  She volunteered for many local organizations including the American Cancer Society, Cub Scouts and Brownies.  She loved reading, doing puzzles and listening to music.
  Marilyn deeply loved her family immensely and they; along with special Aunts Babe Van Raalte and Alida Lawson, were her best friends. 
  Marilyn is survived by her partner, William Harold Midyett; a son, Leo (Linda) Henry Stallman Jr., three daughters, Pamela (Anthony) Louise Hurst, Gail (Bill) Lynn Ericson, Janice Sue (Vic) Kiessel; a sister, Gwendolyn Egeler; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeremy, Johanna, Brittany, Chad, Elizabeth, Michael; ten great grandchildren, Dylan, Kaleb, Brendon, Rebekka, Jordan, Ayden, Nathan, Rosie, Kellen and Brooklyn.
  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leo Henry Stallman Sr., her siblings, Louis Steffens, Helen Westol and Hank Steffens.
  The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 27 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Leland with the family welcoming friends one hour prior to the service.  Private family burial will be held at a later date in East Leland Cemetery.  Reverend Lawrence K. Matro will officiate.
