SUTTONS BAY – Robert Thomas Roubal, 78, of Suttons Bay, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Munson Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.
  Bob was born June 24, 1935 in Suttons Bay the son of Thomas Wencil Roubal and Catherine Julian (Stallman) Roubal.  On Oct 6, 1956 in St. Wenceslaus Church of Gills Pier, he married his loving of 56 years, Diana H. (Rich) Roubal, who survives.
  Bob was a life-long resident of Suttons Bay.  He was a former owner of the Sinclair gas station.  As a young man he used to play the concertina with his father at local dances.  He loved to play cards; his favorite games were euchre and pepper.
  He was chief of the Suttons Bay-Bingham Volunteer Fire Department from Dec. 18, 1967 to Dec. 6, 1972.  He also worked for the Leelanau County Road Commission for 23 years and 6 years as an elected official.
  Bob is survived by his wife, Diana; five children, Steven M. (Joyce) Roubal, Deborah M. Roubal, R. Lee Roubal, Geoffrey M. Roubal, Brian K. (Lauren) Roubal; five siblings, Victor J. (Cyndee) Roubal, Gerald (Beverly) Roubal, Lewis (Roberta) Roubal; Mary (William) Wickert, Pauline (Bruce) Ellsworth; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Willard; Henry and Joseph, both in infancy.
  The mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 22 with visitation one hour prior to the service and the rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Lake Leelanau. 
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Father Michael Janowski will serve as celebrant.
