Chris is survived by his sons, Ian Machir and Dustin Machir; his stepson, Erik Nielsen; stepdaughter, Nicole Nielsen; and their mother, Linda (Posie) Spears-Machir. He loved his children passionately.   He is also survived by his parents and his sisters, Cindy Lee Machir-Lansky and Chaye Ann Machir.
Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ilo and Earl Machir; his maternal grandparents, Devona and Frederick McMillen; and the beloved family dog, Maggie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Martinson Funeral Home, Suttons Bay, MI. 1. Dear Dusty, Ian, Nicole and Erik,

I am so sorry for your loss. Even though you have a huge extended family, none of us can fill your dad's shoes. However, we will all be there to help you when you need it. We'll catch you if you fall. Your dad was so proud of all of you! I'm sure he's in Heaven now, playing with Maggie and knowing he left you in the best of hands, those of your mother.

Posie, I know this has been so difficult for you. Just know, I'm always here for you.
    Much love to you all,
    Aunt jeanne
