Praise be the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for giving brother Charles the inheritance kept for him in heaven and now given to him. I'm sure God said to him, "Well done, thou faithful servant." God grant peace and comfort to his family and friends.

  2. I have such wonderful memories of Pastor Poole. He was one of the best men you would ever want to meet. I got to know him while he was filling a vacancy at Our Savior Lutheran Church is Scottville MI. My husband at the time and I spend many great times with him and Geri. We traveled to their home in Spring Lake and got to make so many memories. I remember he would stay in a travel trailer in the church parking lot many times so he didn't have to travel back and forth to Spring Lake. While there we would also visit him and loved to to listen to him speak so lovingly of our Lord. I learned so very much from him and will never forget him. Since I had moved to Grand Haven area and had tried to look Pastor and Geri up but never could find them. Geri and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all as you lay to rest such a wonderful servant of our God. I know he is rejoicing with the angels and God is smiling and telling him what a great servant he was here on earth! I will always treasure my memories. Thoughts and prayers are with you all. My husband and I remember Pastor Poole fondly. He served as our interim pastor from 1992-1993. He was also part of our call process to fill our vacancy with Pastor Fleming. He was a very caring and spiritual man. Pastor Poole is in a better place now. Our prayers are with his family. He will not be forgotten.

  4. I too am so very grateful for the gift that the Lord gave to our congregation when Pastor Poole became our vacancy pastor for Our Savior Lutheran Church - Grand Rapids, MI. in the early 90's. As a member of the Bd. of Elders and as a spokesperson for our calling committee I had the opportunity, or should I say privilege, to work closely with Pastor Poole on multiple occasions. It was a joy to watch both him and our newly retired Pastor Krieger as they became very good friends and I smile as I recall Pastor K telling a few of us that had he known that OSLC would have a vacancy pastor of Pastor Poole's character he could have, in good conscience, retired much sooner. I pray God's comfort for Geri and all the rest of Pastor Poole's dear family, but rejoice that this faithful shepherd is now able to enjoy firsthand, entirely by Grace and not of his own work, the Good News of eternal life that he labored so faithfully to share with us while here.
    God Bless.
