George entered the US Army in 1941 and served in the European and
Pacific Theater in WWII. He was
discharged as a First Lieutenant in 1946.

were his hobbies.
He was a founding member of St. Michael in the Hills Episcopal

was as good a husband, father and grandfather as anyone could hope for. He was always available to hit fly balls, have
a chat or offer insightful advice. Family and friends called him “Biz,” a
nickname he picked up as a youngster because he was “busy as a bee.”
Contributions to the Leelanau Conservancy, P.O. Box 1007, Leland,
MI 49653 will honor George’s love of the Leland area.
