CEDAR – Elizabeth Hart Hall, 93, of Cedar, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Northport Highlands.

Elizabeth, the adopted daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Penney) Hart, Birmingham, was born... on January 4, 1922 in Detroit. On November 29, 1947 in Birmingham, she married Robert T. Hall who preceded her in death on January 17, 1997. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Hart Craig.

A graduate of Monticello School in Appleton, Wisconsin, she earned a B.A. in elementary education at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. Elizabeth was a stewardess for Chicago and Southern Airlines, which later was acquired by Delta Airlines. She was an elementary school teacher in Birmingham, MI, for two years, and then raised two children. 

She wrote and published A Workbook for Lefthanded Needlepointers, did extensive volunteer work for the American Red Cross and owned an antique store in Clarkston.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Mary “Molly” (Paul) Prokop of New Orleans, LA, and Robert “Tom” Hall of Northport; two grandchildren, Emily Edmonds and Robert Prokop; and five great-grandchildren, Zachary Israel, Elizabeth Prokop, Kaitlyn Prokop, Katie Edmonds, and Carlie Edmonds.

Graveside services will be held this summer at Leelanau Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Northport Highlands Staff Fund for the benefit of those who cared for Elizabeth in her finals days, 215 S. High St., Northport, MI 49670.
