SUTTONS BAY – Rose Marie Hahnenberg Schramski, 89, of Suttons Bay,

A native of Lake Leelanau
Rose Marie was born to Simon and Isabel (Plamondon) Hahnenberg on Dec. 30,

extended family have received many benefits from the role she took on so
willingly. She has left behind extensive
photograph albums and scrapbooks documenting the family and community history.
Rose Marie survived many
major illnesses and surgeries, yet kept a strong faith and maintained her love

ReplyDeleteMy fondest childhood memories are at Lime Lake, will all the Schramski's together having days of fun in the sun and swimming. Then going to Aunt Rosie's and Uncle Frank's house for homemade jam and fresh baked bread, eating at the kids table, I finally made it to the "BIG" table at 13; what a treat that was.
ReplyDeleteAunt Rosie taught me my first song on the piano, always with that infectious laugh and permanent smile, she made a profound impact on my life in ways that only we shared.
I'm happy she is with Uncle Frank and Dad free of pain and discomfort an angel in Gods choir.
I am sad for all of us, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren a hole that will never be filled.
Jillda Schramski and sons Gabe(Alessia), Desi and grandson Matteo
Your reflections made me smile with recalling the same memories and yes, the tears are also there, as she was an earthly joy, as well, so we will greatly miss her! I like the image of her singing in God's choir now. Love, Joan
DeleteWe often hear about the importance of one single life and how it affects so many. Aunt Rosie was one such pebble in my life. During my early part of my life I didn't know I wasn't one of her kids, she never hesitated to love me, teach me, take me cherry picking, berate me and laugh with me. Whenever we went to visit I felt at home. I don't believe a single person who ever met her or knew her could say any less. She was the special kind of person whose 'aura' if you will was love, laughter and life, she shared it all so happily and willingly. The emptiness we all feel from 'our loss' will one day change to the smile and laughter of our memories with her. But for now I grieve with all of you. She didn't give me her 'talent' genes but her love of music is in my soul so, my soul sings to her now. How Great Thou Art. Love you Aunt Rosie.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful reflection, Sue! You ARE part of our family, always were and always will be! Thanks for celebrating Rosie with us; she is a special woman to appreciate. Love, Joan
DeleteThoughts prior to Heaven Opening for dear Aunt Rosie:
ReplyDeleteI’m imagining the Lord wrapping His arms around you and
taking you to a place of love one hundredfold of all the love
you’ve given away throughout your life.
Your love was never divided. It was always multiplied.
Love you forever, Marlene ( Ed) Hahnenberg
My deepest condolences to your family. May you find comfort knowing that your loved one is in God's memory. May Jehovah God bring you peace and comfort during this difficult time. (2Cor.1:3,4)
ReplyDeleteMy introduction into this marvelous, loving family was through Joan and Jean and Christicom, the college retreats which I mentored. From there it was short step to entering the Schramski Family. When I visited I had my own little bedroom off the living room. Often
ReplyDeleteI woke to the aroma of Rosie's bread. She was the center of the family. She more than made up for Frank's taciturnity, as
she bustled about making all welcome. Her martyrology would identify her as wife and mother. She embodied the woman
praised in the Book of Proverbs 31:10-31. "She is more precious than jewels...Her speaking displays her wisdom, words and kindness come from her mouth...Charm deceives and beauty flees; but she who fears the Lord is worthy of praise." We mourn her loss but we rejoice that we knew her and were warmly embraced by her and her wonderful family. Tom and Connie
Thanks Tom and Connie for these beautiful reflections. You DID know Rosie at her essence! Thanks for sharing our appreciation of all Mom embodied. It was an honor to be by her bedside when she died, and so peacefully. She knew her work was done and she had great belief in what was yet to come. Love, Joan
