- Marshall Wayne Meyer,79, of Cedar, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at
Munson Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Marshall was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on
October 23, 1936, the son of the late Arthur J Meyer Sr. and Irma (Tonne)
Meyer. On Aug. 30, 1958 at the Holy
Cross Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana he married Monna S. (Clark) Meyer
who survives.
Marshall attended Concordia Lutheran High
School, Ft. Wayne and Purdue University, where he was a member of Beta Sigma
Psi Lutheran fraternity and Kappa Psi pharmaceutical fraternity. He received
his Bachelor's degree from the School of Pharmacy. He worked his entire career
for the Upjohn Company (now Pfizer) were he started as a pharmaceutical sales
representative, followed by positions as a district manager, sales trainer,
retiring as Director of Marketing for Infectious Disease products.
After retiring to a home on Lime Lake in
Leelanau County, Marshall continued his interest in sales and marketing by
getting his real estate license where he then worked for Coldwell Banker of
Leland. Marshall's hobbies and interests
included; tennis, golf, sailing, music, travel, and involvement in his church.
Marshall is survived by his loving wife of 57
years, Monna; two daughters and a son, Pam (Steve) Brelje, Kenlynn (Jennifer
Jones) Dalton, Matthew (Liz) Meyer; two grandsons and two granddaughters;
Benjamin Brelje, Jonathan Brelje, Kylie Dalton, Madison Dalton; two sisters,
Leota (Walt) Schoedel and Carolyn Cole; nine nieces and a nephew.
He is preceded in death by his father and
mother Arthur J Meyer Sr. and Irma (Tonne) Meyer; his brothers Stanley Wayne
Meyer, David Meyer, Arthur J Meyer Jr; brother-in-law Kenneth Cole and nephew
David Cole.
Friends may visit with the family from 10-11
a.m. Saturday March 12th at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 203 N. Lincoln St in
Suttons Bay followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m., with the
Rev. Kent Lee officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be given to Concordia Lutheran High School, 1601 St Joe River Dr, Fort
Wayne, IN, 46805 or Immanuel Lutheran Church, PO Box 206, Suttons Bay,
MI, 49682.
