Randal H. Korson

TRAVERSE
CITY – Randal Herman Korson, 71, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly on
Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at Mercy Health St. Mary’s Campus.
Randal
was born on June 30, 1945 in Muskegon, the son of Albert and Anna (Flees)
Korson. On April 3, 1981 in Beulah, he
married Charlotte Kiessel, who survives.
Randal
served our nation in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He enjoyed nature and camping, talking, and
generally just putzing around. He was a
caring and giving man, and a true people person who always put others at ease
with his amicable nature.
In
addition to his wife of 35 years, Randal is survived by his children, Bessie
(Jerry) Smith and Morry (Laurie) Straubel; three grandchildren, Gabby, Caleb,
and Noah; two great-granddaughters, Jaelynn and Lexi; siblings, Ruthie Popa,
Ralph Korson, Ron Korson, and Ruby Schaub; in-laws, Mary (Frank) Cornell, John
(Lynn) Kiessel, Jim (Sarah) Kiessel, and Alan Kiessel; and many nieces and
nephews.
He was
preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Rosalie.
A
memorial luncheon will be held on Friday, Sept. 16 at noon at the VFW
Cherryland Post 2780, Traverse City.
