PESHAWBESTOWN – Jean Ann Martinez, 70, of Peshawbestown passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 at Munson Medical Center.

  Jean Ann was born Dec. 12, 1946 in Traverse City the daughter of Leonard and Eleanor (Ance) Miller.  On Sep. 26, 1987 in Leland she married Trinidad “Pancho” Martinez who survives.

  Jean Ann was well loved and a caring, giving person.  She was an avid reader, especially of Romance novels; enjoyed large jig saw puzzles, and taking long drives around the county.

  She enjoyed spending time with her family and everyone in the community called her “Auntie”.

  Jean Ann is survived by her husband, Trinidad “Pancho”, a son, Michael Shigwadja; three grandchildren, Edward Shigwadja, Siouxsie Sue Arizola, D’Angelo Shigwadja and many loving nieces and nephews.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings, Kenneth Miller, Janet Barrientoz; and a daughter, Bonnie Sue Shigwadja.

  Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9 at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.  The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 with visitation starting at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home.  Burial in Kateri Tekakwitha Cemetery will be announced in the spring.
