Gerald F. Jenich
1942 ~ 2017
Gerald Francis Jenich, 75, of
Northport, passed away peacefully at Munson Medical Center on October 24,
2017.
Jerry was born on September 18, 1942 in Hamtramck, the son of Herman and
Lottie (Jurkiewz) Jenich.
Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Army in the early 60’s in both Korea
and Japan. He retired after 30 years of
dedicated service from Ford Motor Company.
He was an avid sportsman and a proud member of the Northport Sportsman
Club. He was a very talented individual
and a man of many trades. Jerry was a
very hard worker and took pride in every task and project he completed.
Jerry was an incredible man. He
was kind, generous, and a very loving person.
He was patient, understanding, and loyal. He touched many peoples’ lives and was
especially proud of his family. He will
always be missed but he will never be forgotten.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat Jenich; his son, Curt
Jenich; and daughter, Cheryl Jenich.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his only sibling, Elaine
Saivia.
In keeping with Jerry’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held.
Collectively the family requests that memorials may be directed to the
Northport EMS, P.O. Box 338, Northport, MI 49670 and/or to Leelanau Co. Senior
Services, 8527 E. Government Center Drive, Suttons Bay, MI 49682.
Our family greatly appreciates the services that were rendered by both
organizations. Everyone has been very
kind, courteous, and efficient during our time of need. We know that it would mean a lot to Jerry to
give back to these wonderful groups to help others in need.
