L. Jack Osie
Died February 19, 2018
LAKE LEELANAU – Leonard Jack Osie, 93, of Lake Leelanau passed
away on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018 at Munson Medical Center.
Jack was born Sep. 15, 1924 in Centerville Township the son of
Roman and Veronica (Petrosky) Osie. He
served his country during WWII in the US Navy and was honorably discharged in
1945.
Upon his discharge Jack returned home to Lake Leelanau and
became a house painter until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing euchre
and poker which, he had done for many, many years. Jack also enjoyed people and had many
wonderful friends especially Tom, Julie, Ted, Kathy and Mark Steimel.
Jack never married although many ladies chased him but never
caught him. He spent the past 42 years
caring for his challenged brother.
Jack is survived by his brother, Albin and many nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings
Walter, John, Donnie, Eleanor, Ester, Theresa, Veronica, Alicia, Marie and
three infant siblings.
Per Jack’s wishes cremation has taken place. Graveside services in St. Mary’s Cemetery
Lake Leelanau will be announced in the spring.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s
Catholic Church and/or St. Mary’s Schools, both at PO Box 340, Lake Leelanau,
MI 49653.
