Our first stop of every vacation was the Omena Bay Country Store, to see Sunny. We would announce, "We're here!" as if Omena was in limbo until we arrived. And Sunny would answer us gracefully, asking us how long would we be able to stay and saying, "That's not long enough..." She made us feel like locals long before we were. --Rachel North
ReplyDeleteYes, Sunny will be missed and Omena will not be the same without her. May God have mercy on her soul. She has been a blessing to us all.

DeleteI will miss her. My whole family will miss her. Sunny and I often shared the same world view and had many lively, but quiet discussions. And Sunny always held back behind the counter, the flavor of ring pops my children loved growing up. She made my children smile. It was a kindness we never forgot. I am very sorry I can not attend her funeral. Cindy Standley :(
