Ruth J. Wakulat
1942 ~ 2019
Ruth Janet Wakulat, 77, of Leland, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3,
2019 at Effie’s Place Assisted Living.
Ruth was born July 5, 1942 to William and Charlotte (Burgess)
Carl. She graduated from Mason High
School with the class of 1960. On Sep.
1, 1962 in Mason she married George C. Wakulat who survives.
Ruth loved bowling, playing cards and Scrabble and solving
crossword puzzles. She enjoyed country
music, especially Randy Travis, and was an excellent cook who would explore
culinary boundaries.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years,
George; four children, Dawn R. Wakulat, Jana M. (Barry) Magness, Deanna S.
(John) Murphy, Dale R. Wakulat; four siblings, Rosalyn E. Kenyon, Wilma K.
(Earl) Beverly, William E. (Deborah) Carl, Roger E. Carl; seven grandchildren,
Lauren Shaw, Kyle Rotarius, Brandon Rotarius, Ashley Goick, Shelby Sylvester,
Madeline Rotarius, and Joanne Murphy; three great grandchildren, Owen Sylvester, Norman Sylvester
and Ava Rotarius; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter-in-law,
Melissa Wakulat, and brother-in-law, Larry Kenyon.
A memorial celebration for Ruth will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay. Rev. Joshua LaFeve will officiate.
Private family burial in East Leland Cemetery has been held.

Wishing all of you peace through this difficult time. We all have so many happy memories and those will be forever cherished. Our whole family will forever miss Ruth's smile and laughter. Not only a wonderful sister but a great friend. We have all been blessed by having her in our lives. May God give you strength and keep all of you in his arms to get you through this time.
