PESHAWBESTOWN – Paul Thomas Dunleavy, 44, of Peshawbestown, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 2, 2020 at his home.

Paul was born February 10, 1976 in Grand Rapids, the son of Jeanette and Bill “Big Bill” Schwandt.  Paul attended school and grew up in Caledonia, MI, where he was known as one of the “OGLG’s” and later moved to Peshawbestown, MI.

Paul had an infectious personality and is described by his family and friends to be an instigator who enjoyed starting crap and then sitting back and laughing, but also as the most selfless, caring, thoughtful, generous, helpful, compassionate, humorous, and easygoing individual.  Besides spending time with family and friends, Paul loved hunting, fishing, and cooking.  Paul touched many lives with his generosity and passion to help others.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his mother, Jeanette Schwandt; his siblings, Kelly (Mark) Hanson, John (Shauna) Dunleavy, Billy Dunleavy, Bobby-Jo (Tim) Dunleavy-Dumont, Lisa Schwandt, Bill (Kathy) Schwandt, Barb (Aaron) Powers; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Bill “Big Bill” Schwandt, and sister, Faith Ann Dunleavy.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3rd at 12 noon at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Peshawbestown.  Sister Sue Gardner will officiate.  Private family burial will take place in St. Kateri Tekakwitha Cemetery.

    This was so unexpected.... And we were definitely not ready to let you go. However, knowing that Grandma, Uncle Mike, Big Bill, Rob and Robert, along with all our other family and friends will welcoming you on the other side, eases the pain. Please hug everyone for us and we’ll be seeing you! I will missing having you around starting shit with everyone and laughing with! I love you, Paul!
