PESHAWBESTOWN – George James High, 71, of Peshawbestown, passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
George was born on Feb. 19, 1942 in Manistique, the son of Joseph and Olive (Cripps) High.
George was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. He was a very giving man, who donated to various charities. He loved country music, wild life, and photography. He lived at the Elders Complex in Peshawbestown during his later years and his last days spent at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
George is survived by his cousins, Roxanne McSauby and dear friend, Lucille McSauby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; half-brother, John; and sister, Lorraine.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 12 noon until the start of the 1 p.m. wake service at Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Peshawbestown. Father Andy will serve as celebrant.
