NORTHPORT – Imogene “Jeanne” Elizabeth Dame, 89, of Northport, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013 at Tendercare of Leelanau.
  Jeanne was born August 8, 1924 in Northport, the daughter of Marcus M. and Gladys L. (Kitchen) Stowe.  On March 20, 1943 in Northport she married Roland “Buster” D. Dame, Jr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2004.
  Immediately following their wedding, Jeanne and Buster set off for Texas where Buster began his military career in the Army.  In 1946, upon completion of his military duty, they returned to Northport.
  Jeanne was active in both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and owned and operated the Corner Store in Northport.  Part of the store complex had a self-serve coffee shop where customers would pay on an honor system.
  Jeanne’s true love was her family, and she was a great wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
  Jeanne is survived by her children, Guy (Carol) Dame of Coppell, TX, Denny Dame of Maple City, and Maxine (the late Gaylon) Charter of Northport; grandchildren, Abbi and Greg Charter of Northport, Sarah Dame of Indianapolis, IN, Allison and Trevor Dame of Coppell, TX, and Meghan Dame of Grapevine, TX; great-granddaughter, Callie Jeanne Wuerfel; brothers, Basil E. (Barbara) Stowe, James (Iva) Stowe, and Marcus (Maxine) Stowe.
  In addition to her husband, Jeanne is predeceased in death by her brother, Warren; and sisters, Genevieve Bartlett, Cleo Martin, and Gladys “Rosalie” Hooper.
  Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. until the start of the 11 a.m. funeral service at Trinity Church UCC of Northport.  Burial will follow at Leelanau Township Cemetery.  The Rev. Karen Fenne will officiate.
  Memorials may be directed to “Tendercare of Leelanau Resident Council”, 124 E 4th St. Suttons Bay, MI 49682. The funds will be used for Christmas gifts, bingo prizes, and other resident needs.
