Betty Mae Aslin
Died Aug. 5, 2014

 SUTTONS BAY – Betty Mae Aslin, of Suttons Bay, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014 at Munson Medical Center.

  Betty was born on Sept. 4, 1926 in Detroit, the daughter of Hiram and Virginia (Galerneau) Olmstead.  In 1946 in Detroit, she married Adam J. Aslin who preceded her in death in 2001.

  Betty was a homemaker and devoted wife to her cherry farmer husband.  She loved her family and grandchildren.  Betty adored animals, especially her four German Shepherds which were her favorites.

  Betty is survived by her daughter, Donna (Phil) Barnowski; son, Gary (Mary) Aslin; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

  She was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Steenbergh.

  Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 11 from noon to 8 p.m. at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Keswick Maple Grove Cemetery.  Rev. Crystal Yarlott will officiate.

  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cherryland Humane Society, 1750 Ahlberg Road, Traverse City, MI 49686.
