Joyce P. Shields

FLUSHING
– Joyce Pearl Shields, 84, of Flushing, passed away on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014
at Munson Hospice House.
Joyce was born March 16, 1930 in Flint the
daughter of Harold and Chrystal (Woodthorp) Tabor. On July 22, 1950 she married her loving
husband of sixty four years, Maxie G. Shields who survives.
Joyce graduated from Flint Technical High
School, was a member of the Flushing Presbyterian Church, Flushing Senior
Center, Flushing Book Club, Red Hats and several Art and Painting groups. She volunteered at the Flint Osteopathic
Hospital and McLaren Hospital.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Maxie; her
sister, Donna Tripp, a son, Michael M. ( Kimberly) Shields of Centerville, OH,
a daughter, Deborah (Chris) Stannard of Northport; her grandchildren, Jasmine
Stannard (John Seamans), Erica Stannard, James Stannard, Katherine (Chase) Collins,
David Shields and a great granddaughter, Fiona Rose Seamans.
A memorial service will be held at the
Flushing Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27.
