Wilma M. Gell
Died September 18, 2014

TRAVERSE CITY – Wilma Marie Gell, 88, of Traverse City, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014 at Munson Medical Center.
  Wilma was born on Nov. 18, 1925 in Detroit, the daughter of Irwin and Irene (Kovach) Weaver.  In 1950 she married Robert Sherwood Gell who preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 2010.
  While raising three children near Detroit, Wilma enjoyed gardening, playing bridge with her many friends, traveling throughout the Caribbean, and spending time on their houseboat in Northport marina.  In 1982, Wilma and Robert moved to Suttons Bay, where they enjoyed their retirement years gardening, gazing at the magnificent bay and spending time with their grandchildren.
  Wilma is survived by her children, David (Judy) Gell of Ann Arbor, Rachel (Gary) Powell of Traverse City, and Jennifer (Steve) Gell of Scranton, PA; six grandchildren, Jared Powell, Devon Fosmore, Kate Gell, and Sam, Ben, and Adam Vale; one great-grandchild Aurora Fosmore; and a brother, Richard Weaver.
  In addition to her loving husband of 61 years, Wilma was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Wade.
  A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
  Memorials may be directed to Munson Hospice, 1105 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684 and/or to a charity of one’s choice.

    Jenny and Rachel, I am sorry to hear about your mom's passing. Seeing the notice brought back many happy summer memories for me, and I hope it will for you as well.
