I never met Avis but had intended to do that this summer on my next visit to Michigan. I was supposed to meet with her last summer but got redirected to other parts of Michigan with my traveling companions (3rd & 4th cousins on a family research trek) and was unable to have that pleasure. I could tell from my communications with Avis what kind of heart she had, that was generous, loving and kind. She so willingly shared her family history stories with me and I enjoyed every contact I had with her. She and my Aunt Olive (Sherriff) Snyder worked closely together back in the 70s when Avis worked at the court house, they shared the love of research and she has lately shared her knowledge with me, for that I am ever grateful.
Thank you for being you, Avis.
From a cousin you never met but who knew and loved you.

We will long remember Avis and the warm friendship that we shared. We enjoyed our visits and meals together, and the stories about the "First Family of Northport" that both Bud and Avis delighted in telling us. May she rest in peace knowning that her life touched so many people.

I never met Avis but my Mother (who just turned 100 years old) and her sibling visited with Bud and Avis back in the 70's. Their father was young Bud's cousin. They lived in Michigan when they were small and have fond memories of Bud and family! Their father was Charles Emerson, Charles' mother was Payson Wolfe daughter. Please know your family is in my prayers for your peace! Rosemary Azzari, Brooklawn, New Jersey
