Died April 28, 2015
CEDAR – Kent Francis Zimmerman, 70, of Cedar, passed away Tuesday, April
28, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Kent was born April 29, 1944, in
Hamtramck, the son of Frank Joseph Zimmerman and Dorothy Marian (Fleis) Zimmerman. On Oct. 5, 1968, at Holy Rosary Church in

Kent was a lifelong parishioner of
Holy Rosary Church, serving as usher and maintenance worker as needed. He was also a member of the Cedar Chamber of

safety. During retirement his favorite activities
were working on his cars, polka dancing, and spending time with family,
especially his grandchildren whom they affectionately called Polka Papa. Kent will be most remembered by his beautiful
landscaping, ability to help others in simple and practical ways, and as a
Christian marked by service.

Couturier; three grandchildren, Kendra, Cody, and Claire Couturier; mother,
Dorothy; sister, Karen (Al) Laskey; and brother, Keith Zimmerman.

Our sincere condolences to Nancy and to all the Zimmerman family on the loss of your dear Kent.
ReplyDeleteThe obituary is a wonderful tribute to the man he was -- talented, giving, resourceful, creative, and faith-filled. We might add thoughtful, for although a bit reserved at first, once a person got to know Kent, they would realize the depth of his wisdom, kindness, and warmth. Ben commented how much he enjoyed getting to know Kent as he worked on some electrical projects for Ben. And I (Judy) appreciated my connection with Kent while on the Holy Rosary Board of Ed, so many years ago.
May he now rest in peace in the loving presence of our Lord. He and all of you will be in our thoughts and prayers as you work through this sacred time of grief.
Fondly,
Judy and Glenn LaCross
