Program in 1984. During this time, she
was in many cosmetology competitions and received many awards for her
excellence.
Sherry

years. She then moved to Lansing and

Sherry was a loving daughter, sister, aunt,

nieces and nephews. She grew up on the family’s
cherry and apple farm in beautiful Leelanau county and she enjoyed helping out
with all the many jobs-especially the annual harvest. She loved to learn new things and especially
loved helping people. She was outgoing
and gregarious and as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She loved to laugh and she made other people
laugh. She loved her life and her

One of
her favorite sayings were, “Keep climbing and don’t look back!”. She believed you should live life as if
tomorrow was not guaranteed. Her
favorite quote was, “Seize the Day!” She
will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. The world is a much better place for her being
here. We were all blessed to have had
her in our lives. She will be greatly

Please share
memories and condolences with the Korson family below:
I met Sherry a few years ago while we were at Black Lake for a training session for the UAW. She was a lot of fun and a great person. We kept in touch for some years after that even. My thoughts and prayers go out to each and every one of her family.
ReplyDeleteWe are so terribly sorry to hear of Sherry's passing. Our deepest condolences are with the family at this time.
DeleteSherry Korson....one of my favorite friends! We worked together at the State of Michigan, Department of Health and Human Services for many years in the Healthy Kids/Plan First unit in East Lansing. When I started in the office Sherry and I hit it off immediately and became friends outside of work as well. She was such a fun person to be around! I will remember the many times I sat in her kitchen while she colored and cut my hair.....she loved doing that. We bonded over so many things...our dogs, our Northport/Suttons Bay connection, our love of "girlie" things, etc., etc. My heart is broken....she will be missed so much... My love and prayers to the entire Korson family...I feel like I know you all because Sherry always talked about all of you. She had so much love for her family!
ReplyDeleteSo Very sorry to hear this! My prayers are being said for Strength, and Understanding. She was a Bright Ray of the Sun!

I was devastated to hear about Sherry's passing she was so important to me growing up and I have thought of her often throughout my life. She was one of those people who changed the world for the better and touched everyone she met.

I'm so sorry for the unexpected loss of your loved one. These are the most painful losses that we face because we don't have the opportunity to say 'good-bye'. Yet a time is promised when we will welcome our loved one back from the death ! Then we will be together forever ! So please draw comfort from this promise found in Revelation 21:3-5. jw.org
ReplyDeleteOur deepest sympathy to the Korson family on the loss of your lovely and accomplished daughter and sister Sherry. A life taken too soon, for sure. May she now rest in peace in the arms of our loving Lord. God bless and keep you all.
ReplyDeleteWith thoughts and prayers,

I lived with Sherry in Japan and just learned of her passing in the MSU Alumni magazine. I have so many wonderful memories of Sherry and our time in Japan. I saw her last a few years ago at the MAC and she was as warm and positive as she always had been. It was like time had not passed. My heart is sad.
