TRAVERSE CITY – Joni Lynn Jones, 52, of Traverse City, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at Munson Medical Center with her family by her side.

Born on Sept 18, 1964 in Holland, Michigan, she was the daughter of Anthony Peter Sams and Mabel (White Pigeon) Perkins.

Joni loved to meet new people and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She expressed her creativity through her love of music, writing, and making gifts for those she loved. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.

She is survived by three children, David Allen Shostak, Karrie Ann Shostak, and Anthony William (Cassandra) Shostak; two sisters, MaryAnn Antoine and Debra Jean Perkins; three brothers, Gary Allan Oskaboose, William Ray Oskaboose, and Scott Anthony Perkins; eight nieces, Denise Speer, Karen Oskaboose, Pamela Antoine, Heather Antoine, Dawn Penman, Stacey Speer, Michelle Oskaboose, and Nicole Perkins; ten nephews, Jeffory Speer, Douglas Speer, Gregory Antoine, Richard Oskaboose, Daniel Irish, Mark Irish, Andrew Perkins, William Oskaboose, Joshua Perkins, and John Oskaboose; two grandchildren, Selene Ann Forton and Zachary Peter Shostak; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Joni was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Virginia Kathryn, Delores Clara, Cheryl Lynn; brother, Michael Peter; and three uncles, Howard White Pigeon, Edward White Pigeon, and Calvin White Pigeon.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to the start of the 1 p.m. funeral service at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.
