Oh my lord, I just talked to my dear friend last week. I am in Shock! I just heard about it. I loved the man. What a dear friend he was. Please accept my deepest sympathy. I will truly miss Him! Gin we are so sorry. I still can't believe it!
ReplyDeleteI, Nettie Holtslander, knew and worked with Gerry as a secretary for many years at Lake Fenton High School as he moved through the ranks.
First as a teacher, then as HS Principal and than as Superintendent. He was efficient in his position and always kind and pleasant to everyone.
Saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. Thoughts and prayers are with Ginny and her family. You were so blessed to have him over 51 years! Deb and Gary Hampton (GMAC)

ReplyDeleteWe send our most sincere condolences to you Ginny, Heather, Shannon and to all of Gerry's family and friends upon hearing of his untimely death due to serious health challenges. It all has to be such a tough time emotionally and physically for you. We know that you were there in every way for Gerry and with him in that journey. All of you have certainly been in our thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteGlenn misses seeing Gerry at the club -- he always enjoyed visiting with him, and found him to be someone who had interesting experiences in life and was easy to converse with. I have enjoyed chatting a bit with you Ginny, and found your daughters to be such fine, friendly, and accomplished young ladies. I had met them a couple times at the annual Leelanau Co Zonta 8th Grade Girls' Educational Day.
It's sad that you had to lose Gerry in the prime of retirement life, and that he can't watch his grandchildren grow up. May Gerry now rest in peace in the presence of our Lord. He, and all of you, will continue to be in our prayers. Glenn attended his funeral but unfortunately I was unable. We will have a Mass for him at Holy Rosary.
Sending hugs and love,
Judy and Glenn LaCross
