Maxine M. Morris
Died Jan. 7, 2017
LAKE LEELANAU – Maxine
Margaret Morris, 92, of Lake Leelanau, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 at
Munson Medical Center.
Maxine was born June 2, 1924 in Kansas City,
Missouri the only child of Chester C. Cummins and Letha L. (Gregory)
Cummins. On Feb. 10, 1941, she married
her loving husband of seventy-five years, Theodore Clark Morris Sr., who
survives.
One of God’s most beautiful angels left this
world and flew back up to heaven to return to her heavenly Father’s side where
she rightfully belongs. Maxine will be
watching over all of us like she never could in her earthly body here and we
can find peace in the fact that she will no longer feel the pain and
frustration from the side effects of the stroke she experienced four and a half
years ago.
Maxine was by far as close to a saint as is
possible here on earth. She was the best
mother and friend we could have ever hoped for or even imagined and we will all
be eternally blessed forever to have had the opportunity to call her wife,
mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She will always be our shining star!
She created a great wave and eternal legacy
on this earth of kindness, caring, tender heartedness, compassion and most of
all love; through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren by just
being the person God created her to be.
A loving, caring, supportive mother who never gave up on her children. That’s all her job here on earth was intended
to be in her view.
Maxine will be deeply missed but never
forgotten here because she continues to live in the hearts of all of us that
know and love her.
She was not only our mom, she was truly our
best friend. Her love was completely
unconditional. Nothing meant more to her
in this world than her husband and children and she would have sacrificed her
own needs for ours. We can only hope to
be a small portion of the wife, mom, grandma and if God chooses someday great
grandma; that she has been to all of us.
Her life’s example to all of us has been
God’s special gift and we will strive every day to carry on that legacy and
pass on that gift to the lives that we touch in this world, as she did. We will stay focused on what really matters
in this world! One can’t take the things
of this world with you but you can leave behind an eternal legacy that can
change lives forever if you have the right focus here on earth, as Maxine also
did.
We will all be very sad to not have Maxine
here with us on this earth but will rest in the fact that she is at peace with
Jesus in paradise and we will all be re-united in heaven someday.
Maxine is survived by her husband, Ted; eight
children, Ted (Blanche) Morris Jr., Carol Chrisman, Dave (Lanette) Morris, Dan
(Sharon) Morris, Marie (Mike) Rothgarber, Trish (Chuck) Mehney, Christine
(Dean) Allison, Jim Morris; twenty one grandchildren, Kelly (Rod) Killian,
Nancy (Danny) Lacy, Gerard Morris, Donna (Todd) Gerard, Debbie (Ken) Hunroe,

Ted and family - We are so sorry to hear of Maxine's passing. Maxine was such a great person. I have fond memories of her welcoming disposition and generosity. She wasn't afraid to roll out the welcome mat when I came over. All of you are like an extended family to me. It always meant a great deal to me since my own family was in a lot of turmoil back in those days. All of you helped me to keep my sanity by your friendship.
