Edward M. Kasmer
Died February 28, 2017
MAPLE CITY – Edward
Martin Kasmer, 79, of Maple City, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at home with
family at his side.
Ed was born on Oct.
6, 1937 in Detroit, the son of Cass and Genevieve (Kowalak) Kasmer. On Oct. 5, 1957 at Nativity Church in
Detroit, he married Janet C. Wygocki who preceded him in death on Nov. 27,
2016.
Ed loved fishing,
hunting, and woodworking. He enjoyed
traveling, but most of all Ed loved spending time with his children,
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his
children, Debbie Gatzke, Jeanine (Georgia Sage) Kasmer, Linda (Dan) Morrison,
and Angela Kasmer (Jon) Russell; eight grandchildren, Marsha (Tommy) Wolf,
Shayne (Kylee) Gatzke, Shawn Gatzke, Daniel (Ashley) Morrison, Joseph (Emily)
Morrison, Sarah Morrison, Matthew (Caitlyn) Morrison, and Ewan Russell; five
great-grandchildren, Ethan Gatzke, Wesley Gatzke, Jacob Morrison, Aniyah Morrison,
and Abrielle Morrison; and a brother, Paul Kasmer.
Visitation will be
held on Friday, March 3 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Martinson Funeral Home of
Suttons Bay. The funeral service will
be held on Saturday, March 4 at 1 p.m. with visitation two hours prior also at
the funeral home. Rev. Joel Brown will
officiate.
Burial of both Edward
and Janet Kasmer will take place in the spring at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Isadore.
