TRAVERSE CITY – James Richard Majszak, 61, of Traverse City, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at Munson Medical Center.



  Jim was born Jan. 6, 1956 in Traverse City the son of Robert A. Majszak Sr. and Elsie (Pahl) Majszak.  In 2002 at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Traverse City he married Kay A. (Curry) Majszak, who survives.



  He owned and operated Moments in Time taxidermy.  Jim loved hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, cooking and baking.  He was an expert cook and baker.  His family remembers his chicken dumplings, the kolache and ham he lovingly made for holiday meals.  Jim would make homemade maple syrup and during the collecting from the trees; have his young ones taste the sap out of the maple trees.



  Jim was a man with deep love for his family and grandchildren.



  Jim is survived by his wife, Kay; his father and step mother, Robert (Carol) Majszak Jr.; his children, Nathaniel (Tamara) Majszak, Rachel Majszak, Melissa (Dawie) Conradie; step children, Tricia Goode, Tonja Griffis, T.J. Lorenz; his siblings, Robert (Darlene), Michael (Christina), Thomas (Patricia), David (Kimberly), Steven (Patricia), Christina (Anne Drake) Majszak; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.



  He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie.



  Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 28 at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.

    My condolences to his wife and all the children and grandchildren he has touched.I will always keep him in my heart and for my son that was his pappy a long time ago and we will cherish him so much. I pray the family will heal from this for we have lost a great person he was the heart and soul of many people. He loved hunting and fishing and anything outdoors. And the best taxidermist id ever seen. You are loved and missed dearly. Love sheree and Steven
