1927 ~ 2020 

Kenneth Roy Poineau Sr., 90, of Maple City, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at home with his loving family.


Kenneth was born July 20, 1929 in Saginaw the son of Alfred John Poineau and Hazel G. (Jacob) Poineau.  He married Daisy Corrine (Fila) Poineau who preceded him in death in 2000.


As a young man Kenneth served his nation in the U.S. Army during Korean Conflict.  Afterwards Ken spent a lifetime working in construction.  Carpentry was part of his being and he loved making keepsake toys, hope chests or tables for his family.  He had a green thumb and grew flowers, bushes and landscaped his property.


Ken was a man whose character was built on faith and family.  He attended church and found his greatest comfort being at home surrounded by his family.


Kenneth is survived by his children, Ricky Alan (Sandy) Poineau, Kimberly Ann (Ed) Poineau Holman, Mark Anthony (Stacy) Poineau, daughter-in-law Kay Poineau; his sister, Betty Ronan; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and one on the way; two great-great grandchildren and one on the way.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy; his sons, Kenneth Roy Poineau Jr. and Michael John Poineau; a grandchild, Ricky Alan Poineau Jr.; his siblings, Caroline Frazier, Alfred Poineau, Rose Nichols, John Poineau, and Barbara Abbott.


Private family visitation and mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, Isadore.  Burial to follow at St. Rita Cemetery.
