Lyle A. Graves
Died December 19, 2014
BINGHAM TOWNSHIP – Lyle A. Graves, 92, of Bingham Township, passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at his home.
  Lyle was born March 3, 1922 in Richmond, MI the son of Charles and Isabel (Huwe) Graves. He attended high school in Detroit at Denby, Cass Tech, and finally at Detroit School of Applied Science eventually becoming a Professional Engineer providing machinery design for the automotive industry. He closed his business and retired with his wife Alma to Leelanau County in 1978 where he enjoyed playing pool, fishing, golf, and being with his family.  As a young man, Lyle served his country in the U.S. Navy during the WWII.
  Lyle is survived by his children, Larry (Barbara) Graves of Suttons Bay, Glenn (Lee) Graves of Olympia, WA, Christine (Harry) Meyer of Helendale, CA, Leslie Dailey (Richard Gardner) of Lewisville, CO; his grandchildren, Cynthia (Garrick) Opie, Bethany (Daniel) Stowe, Brian (Sandra) Graves, Jon (Beth) Maki, Uriah (Ali) Dailey, Emily (Chad) Stevens, Jon (Ami) Graves; his great grandchildren, Bryce, Brayden and Grayson Opie, Zachary and Sophie Stowe, Lillian, Lauren and James Graves, Tyler, Graham and Chloe Maki, Caitlyn, Gavin and Eric Stevens, Giffin and Georgia Graves, Celia and Nora Dailey.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Mae (Lucas) Graves in 1998, a brother, Lloyd Graves and a sister, Lura Doherghty 
  Private family services will be held at a later date.
  Memorial Contributions may be made to Munson HealthCare Regional Foundation, 1150 Medical Campus Dr., Traverse City, MI 49684 and/or to the Leelanau Conservancy, P.O Box 1007, Leland, MI 49654.

    We were neighbors on Lakeview for 35 years, we will sure miss him.
