Kathleen (Kathy) Victoria Burgess, age 74, went home to the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. She was the devoted wife and best friend to Jay Burgess for 58 years, the loving mother to Jon-Thomas (Diana) and Jacques-Brett (Nancy). She kept her grandchildren; Thomas-Jay, Breanna-Lee, Emily, and Jonah close to her heart and in her prayers every day. 

Kathy was born in Dearborn Michigan to Johnny and Victoria Kobielski. She was close to her brothers Robert(Patricia) Kobielski and Michael Kobielski (Violet Rozkowski). She was very proud of her Polish heritage and in retirement, she and her husband created a Polish food truck business “Grandma-ski’s” and traveled throughout the Midwest. 

She always believed in her family and taught them to  pursue their dreams. Kathy wore many hats in her lifetime; cosmetologist, sales associate, cooking/sewing instructor, volunteer, real estate agent, and medical assistant.  She led by example, for she herself went back to school in her late 40s and received her Diploma in Nursing from one of the last classes of the Henry Ford Hospital nursing program. She was very proud to be a Registered Nurse and worked for many years at Henry Ford Hospital and Beaumont Hospital. 

Kathy will be remembered for her strong faith in Jesus, her creativity, passion for cooking and gardening, compassion for animals, but most importantly, her sensitive and loving heart. 

The family will celebrate Kathy’s life with a private mass at St Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac Michigan. Please keep them in your prayers.
